Join us as we celebrate Kathy Arkema as she retires from Marion County Bank after 39 years.

For nearly four decades, Kathy has been a steady, expert presence at Marion County Bank. As she puts it, “life happens one day at a time—and suddenly, it’s a year, then 10, then 39! … It’s a good place to work. After a while it just became home.”

That “home” benefited from Kathy’s mastery in loan processing. As Diane Roose shared, Kathy could take very little information and still create everything needed for a flawless closing—determined, thorough, and consistently going above and beyond. Just as important, she’s been a friend to all, balancing deep commitment to her work with devotion to her family, a quality Diane admires.

Kevin Bolt, who worked alongside Kathy for over 30 years, calls her reliable and ever‑present—always willing to volunteer on behalf of the bank. Through countless compliance changes, Kathy embraced the challenge and helped position our team—and our customers—well.

Kathy passed on some advice. “Always remember that you work for your customers. They are important. Without them, you have no job. Treat them well.” She’s proud of her tenure, grateful for what she’s learned, and treasures the friendships made along the way.

Kathy, thank you for the craftsmanship, care, and customer‑first spirit you’ve modeled for 39 years. We’re grateful for every day you invested in our bank and community—and we wish you joy in the next chapter.

We celebrate with you today and wish you well in retirement!
