There’s something special about King’s Day in Pella.
It’s the color (one of our favorites).
It’s the fun.
It’s the way Pella comes together to celebrate—right at the start of one of the most anticipated weeks of the year.
This past weekend, we were proud to sponsor King’s Day, an even curated by Pella Historical Museums, and once again, it reminded us why this weekend holds such a meaningful place in Pella. From the Historical Village to Scholte Gardens, King’s Day offers a chance to take it all in and celebrate what makes Pella unique.
A Day Full of Tradition—and a Lot of Orange
Our team enjoyed experiencing King’s Day from all corners of the celebration. We loved walking through the Historical Village, visiting the flea market in Scholte Gardens, and seeing the new Klompen Heart, created by The Spirit of Pella—a bright, joyful reminder of the creativity and pride woven into Pella.
One of our favorite moments was spending time in the Historical Village handing out King’s Day goodie bags and visiting with families, neighbors, and friends. It was a beautiful day—full of smiles, color, and plenty of orange. Check us out on Facebook and Instagram for our favorite pictures and videos from the day!
Showing Up Together
King’s Day isn’t just an event—it’s a collective effort. And that’s what makes it special.
Our Bank President, Kevin Bolt, spent the day volunteering at our booth alongside staff members and brought his family out to enjoy the celebration as well.
“King’s Day is one of those events that really captures what makes Pella special,” Kevin shared. “It was great to be part of the day—not just as a sponsor, but as a volunteer and as a family. I’m incredibly proud of our staff who give their time to be part of events like this. But even more than that, I’m grateful to everyone at Pella Historical. The amount of work, coordination, and passion it takes to make King’s Day happen is impressive, and our community benefits from it in such a meaningful way.”
It’s that behind‑the‑scenes effort—by Pella Historical staff, volunteers, and partners—that turns a day on the calendar into a shared community experience.
A Meaningful Start to Tulip Time
King’s Day always feels like the perfect lead‑in to Tulip Time, which begins this weekend. And as we look ahead to the celebrations to come, we’re reminded of another fun connection—we share a birthday with Tulip Time.
Each year, this stretch of late spring serves as a reminder of the history, hospitality, and traditions that continue to shape Pella. From King’s Day to Tulip Time, it’s a season filled with moments that bring people together—and we’re grateful to play a small part in supporting them.
Thank You, Pella Historical
Thank you to Pella Historical for hosting another incredible King’s Day and for the care, detail, and dedication that go into preserving and sharing Pella’s story.
