We are excited to announce that, Robert Poppe, Vice President & Agricultural Loan Officer, has been recognized as Marion County’s Top 10 Under 40! This recognition is a testament to Robert’s dedication, hard work, and outstanding contributions to our team and the community we serve.

When asked about Robert’s achievement, David Greving, Senior Vice President, Credit Administration said: "Robert is a talented loan officer who really cares about doing things right, both for the bank and for his customers. In the few years that he has been with us, he has endeared himself to his co-workers and the community he serves. He is a true community banker.”

Dylan Morse, Vice President and Commercial Loan Office highlighted his impact to the bank and to the community.  "Robert’s pairs his experience with a deep understanding of his customers. He thinks about solutions from a different perspective and does so while offering up an encouraging word, joke, and a friendly smile. It’s impossible not to share a chuckle with Robert. He’s been a great addition to the team and community, and I’m proud to work with him."

As part of the honor, those recognized answer questions that center on community development or extending encouragement to others. Robert shared the following insights as part of that process.

What is the best part of working in Marion County?

I really enjoy working with individuals in our county and communities on both a personal and professional level. It feels like everyone has a genuine interest in the well-being of our communities and our county. 

 What type of career advancement opportunities exist for young professionals in Marion County?

There are numerous employers that provide various career opportunities with opportunities to grow and advance during young professionals’ careers.  This includes entry level positions that can develop and lead to logistics, sales, engineering, marketing and management.

 What advice would you give to a teen looking to enter your field of work?

Keep an open mind, try to learn as much as possible, and apply that knowledge.  Don’t be afraid to screw up/fail if you are willing to learn from mistakes.  That is how you grow and develop as a younger individual.
