We are celebrating the retirement of Vicki Rewerts today! Vicki has been a delight to work with and is always up for a good laugh. Vicki and her husband Alan plan to spend their retirement camping, so naturally, we had a camping themed retirement party for her. Happy trails, Vicki!

Welcome Reid Evans to Main Street Advisory Group

Steve Kraayenbrink, President and CEO of Marion County Bank, announces the addition of Reid Evans to Main Street Advisory Group.  

Evans is a graduate of Central College with a master’s degree from UNI.  He has spent the last 11 years working at Central College, primarily as an assistant football coach.  Evans lives in Pella with his wife, Liz, and their three children, McKenna, Parker and Graham.

Evans joins Patrick Moriarity, Jason Rozenboom and Sam Vande Weerd as a Financial Advisor for Main Street Advisory Group.   Main Street Advisory Group is the investment advisory department of Marion County Bank and is located on the 3rd floor of the main bank office in Pella.

De Cook and Van Maanen join Marion County Bank Board

 Steve Kraayenbrink, President and CEO of Marion County Bank, announces the addition of Dan De Cook (left) and Jeff Van Maanen (right) to the Marion County Bank Board of Directors.

Dan De Cook is co-CEO of Heritage Lace.  Jeff Van Maanen is a certified public accountant and general manager of Van Maanen, Sietstra, Meyer and Nikkel, PC.

“Dan and Jeff will be great additions to our Board of Directors,” says Kraayenbrink, “they bring a fresh banking perspective and knowledge that will be an asset to the work of the Board.”

De Cook and Van Maanen will fill the open seats left by the retirements at the year end of Mark De Cook and Paul Hietbrink after 13 years of dedicated service.

“We extend our sincere thanks to Mark and Paul for their years of service on the board.  Their contributions will be missed,” added Kraayenbrink.  

De Cook and Van Maanen join current board members Bryce Dahm, Ralph De Haan, Bruce Heerema, Steve Kraayenbrink, Judd Vande Voort, Pete Verhey and Ron Zantingh.

Marion County Bank is a locally owned and managed community bank in Pella, Iowa.  In its 80 years of service, Marion County Bank has grown to become the largest bank chartered in Marion County with assets over $280 million.

David is our senior loan officer, has a voluminous vocabulary and is the unofficial president of the bank's Iowa Hawkeye fan club. As a member of the Iowa Bankers Association, we are proud to support the Money Smart Kid Essay Contest. Encourage your 7th-11th grade student to enter this under 300 word essay contest for a chance to win $1,000!

  • One student will be named this year's Money Smart Kid and receive a $1,000 award.
  • The winner and finalists may be invited to read their essays at one or more Money Smart Week events.
  • Students in grades 7-11 may enter the contest by answering the question below, using no more than 300 words.
  • See guidelines on the application for additional requirements.

The 2015 Question is:
What is the biggest obstacle to saving your money? What technological and/or banking solutions might help you and your friends begin to save?

 

 

The deadline to submit an essay is March 27, 2015.  A winner will be announced by April 10, 2015.
