"Belinda Guy" Book Signing at Marion County Bank

Marion County resident and author, Fred Bankus, will hold a book signing for his new book, Belinda Guy on Thursday, May 21 from 10:00am to 12:00 noon at the Marion County Bank in Pella.  The book, printed by the Town Crier in Pella, is a collection of short stories chronicling the author’s life from youth to adulthood. Many of the essays have a sports theme, as Bankus has been an athletic participant and observer most of his life.

Bankus was born on a farm between Pella and Knoxville. His professional career has included that of a college administrator, a banker, and a retail sporting goods store owner. Belinda Guy is his second book. He writes with a sense of humor and occasional self-deprecation, allowing readers to think back to their own personal life experiences as they follow the author in his.

This book of short stories depicts a life well lived, and presented with joy and enthusiasm for that life.

Under construction - Marion County Bank is expanding north!

Under constructionIn January, Marion County Bank was given the opportunity to purchase the building directly north of the bank that housed the former Century 21 Real Estate.  Plans were created to utilize this space to better serve our customers.  The seamless flow from the current building into the new space will allow for additional customer service offices, a conference room and an updated teller area.  The exterior of the building will receive a new Dutch front to keep with the unique character of downtown Pella.

Construction began following Tulip Time and completion is expected in the fall of 2015.  Throughout the construction process, we will provide uninterrupted service to our customers.  We thank you for your continued loyalty to Marion County Bank and look forward to our completed remodel this fall.

MCB treats Royalty to special day, including scholarships!

Marion County Bank is proud to reflect our strong Dutch heritage and community support by sponsoring the Tulip Queen and court.  Since 2001, Marion County Bank has provided a scholarship to help alleviate the costs involved with being on the court.  In addition, Marion County Bank covers the expenses of their trip to Channel 8 television and KCWI 23 in Des Moines, provides lunch for the court and their mothers at the Embassy Club and sponsors the tulip queen and court’s horse-drawn carriages during the parades.

This year, MCB's Teresa Ulferts travelled with the 2015 Pella Royalty to Des Moines for media day.
