Tulip Time is one of the most special times in our community.
For a few days each spring, everything feels brighter. The streets fill with people, the colors come alive, and there’s an energy you just don’t find any other time of year.
But what most people see is only part of the story - full video below.
Before the First Crowd Arrives
Long before the first visitor arrives, before the first costume is put on, before the first poffertje is served, there are people already at work.
They’re opening shop doors early. Sweeping sidewalks. Setting up tents. Prepping food. Moving floats. Organizing schedules. Checking details most of us will never notice—and wouldn’t even think to.
The People Behind Tulip Time
They are the shop owners who welcome the crowds with a smile, even after long days. The volunteers who show up before sunrise and stay well past closing. The nonprofit groups who pour their energy into something bigger than themselves. The city workers who quietly keep everything running. The neighbors who step into costume and bring tradition to life year after year.
These are the people who make Tulip Time what it is.
Watch the Story Unfold
We put together a short video to capture just a glimpse of what we’re talking about—the early starts, the quiet moments, and the people who make it all happen.
Or check it out a shorter version of this video and more like it, check us out on Facebook or Instagram.
In it, you’ll hear from Kevin Bolt our President, who spends a lot of his Tulip Time hours volunteering in the Poffertjes stand alongside so many others who show up to serve.
“Tulip Time doesn’t just happen,” Kevin shared. “It’s built by people—neighbors, volunteers, small business owners—who care deeply about this community. You see it in the way everyone shows up for each other. It’s something really special to be a small part of.”
The Part That Matters Most
That’s the part of Tulip Time that stays with you.
The understanding that behind every stand, every shop, every smiling face—there’s a person. A story. A commitment to making something meaningful for others.
And that’s something we believe in every day.
Because at the bank, we don’t just see accounts or transactions.
We see the people behind them—the early risers, the small business owners, the volunteers, the families.
It’s really all about the people who make this community what it is.
We see you. We appreciate you.
And we’re grateful to be part of this community with you.
