Join us as we celebrate Nancy Hammann as she retires from Marion County Bank after more than 41 years of service.

Nancy’s journey with the bank began through a School to Work program—an early start that blossomed into a remarkable four‑decade career. What kept her here all those years? Without hesitation, she points to the family she found within these walls. “You get to know your coworkers so well,” she shared. “Even their kids. It really becomes a family.”

That sense of family carried her through seasons of change, a theme Nancy returned to again and again. Her advice for those who follow in her footsteps? "Be ready for change—and rely on your bank family to help you through it." She remembers long days that turned into late nights, but also the laughter, camaraderie, and shared moments that made the time meaningful. After revisiting several memories, she smiled, laughed, and said simply, “We had some fun times.”

As she looks ahead, Nancy is excited for a new focus: “to retire and take care of me,” she said with a grin.

Lisa Walters shared how grateful she’s been for Nancy’s willingness to take on new challenges with a smile—calling her a blessing to the bank. David Greving reflected on meeting Nancy later in her career but feeling immediately welcomed by her positive spirit. She was always ready, always willing, and always carried a great attitude. He closed by saying: “It’s been a pleasure, and congratulations on your next chapter.”

Nancy, thank you for the warmth, resilience, and dedication you’ve brought to Marion County Bank for over 41 years. You modeled what it means to show up for your team, embrace change, and treat your workplace like home. We are grateful for the countless ways you’ve shaped our bank and the many friendships you’ve built along the way.

We celebrate with you today and wish you well in retirement!
